Mary

For the past couple of days now, I've been thinking of Mary, Jesus' mother, every time I hold Alexander. I love my son so much, and want so much for him. I can only imagine how much Mary loved her new baby. I wonder what games she played with Him, what she sang to Him, how He smiled at her. I bet she was in awe knowing that He was the Son of God. What a humbling thing that would be, to be chosen to bring the Savior of Men into the world. She sacrificed so much to bring Him into the world. She experienced the pains and joys of having a new baby. And I'm sure she was just as tired as any new mother is in the middle of the night. I look forward to seeing Mary again one day and talking with her. What kind of mother was she? She was loving, and caring, and she worried. She worked hard to teach her son and to guide Him as he grew stronger in mind and body. I'm sure she also learned an aweful lot from Him. I am very greatful for Mary, for she brought our King into this world. I hope that I can love my children and take care of them so that they grow up to be wonderful individuals.

Sounds like we've been thinking about a lot of the same things. It's amazing how much having a baby has changed my perspective.

I have been thinking a lot about her lately too. We have this picture book with beautiful pictures of MAry in it. I just love it. And have you seen the NAtivity short video put out by the church? It is on the Mr, KRuger's Christmas DVD. I could watch it on repeat all day every day in the month of December. I love it so much. Mary is so beautiful and peaceful and lovely in that video.

She must have been an extraordinary woman.
