Male bonding
I dropped Gracie off down the street and came home to this...Ronald and Alexander laying down on the couch. Ronald's eyes were shut, Alexander was wide awake just looking at his Papi. That is how little boys learn to lounge...they watch their papi's when least expected.
Thank you, MAM
Alexander won't sleep in his bed at night. He wants mami to be his pacifier and heat source (can't blame the little guy). Mami wants to sleep better, so I went to Target and bought some "MAM" pacifiers....there is hope! He slept in his own bed last night, except when it was snack time. It was a wonderful night.
Just some pictures
Ronald finally bought us new rechargable batteries for the camera (HOORAY!), so we took some pictures just for fun today. It was great fun.
I love that Isabella opened her Minnie Mouse glasses just in time.
"Sorry son, you don't have a choice. You get mami kisses."

I love this picture. Having a son is wonderful.

Isabella is very good at saying "cheese" and smiling now. That's a hair barrette almost pulled out of her hair. She doesn't like the darned things.

Look at those chubby cheeks! Don't you just want to kiss them all over? (Talking about Alexander's, not mine.)

Mami being silly, and being squashed.

I love love LOVE this picture. For a couple of days (and every once in a while), Isabella says that she wants "mami milkies". Isabella was very content with Alexander having mami milkies this time. While he was nursing, she put her face right on his. So sweet. She just loves her baby brother.
Tagged by Jeanne
I just realized yesterday that Jeanne tagged me, so here I go. I have to list 25 random things about me.
1. If you mention to me that I have to sing a solo, I get all hot and sweaty just thinking about it, and my heartrate goes crazy. Talk about a mess....I'm getting this reaction just typing and thinking about it.
2. Everytime I see a dancing movie for the first time, I am all smiles and I usually cry. I am so passionate about dancing...someday I will have time to go out and dance some more.
3. I am very bossy...but in a good way (most of the time). Just ask my family or Ronald.
4. My hair didn't turn "curly" until I was well into puberty...if only it was truly curly or truly straight...the inbetween stuff drives me crazy.
5. If I could get away with it, I would wear nothing but pink, black, gray, and white. I would also dress up all the time. I think pants are overrated.
6. I am so darn picky about what I wear that I can hardly ever dress up. They just don't make "Caitlin clothes", and if they do, they are way WAY too expensive.
7. HEELS, HEELS, HEELS!!!!!! My obsession. (but they usually have to be pointy)
8. I thoroughly enjoy waking up in the middle of the night to nurse my newborns. Seriously, I don't mind the lack of sleep. I think of it as a way of Heavenly Father reminding me to spend time with my baby since they grow up so quick.
9. I don't make close friends easily....especially with girls. I think this is because I don't like the "upkeep" of having lots of friends. I think girls are just high maintainance.
10. Every day I dream about competing in ballroom/latin dance. One day I will do this (even if I'm old)....just watch, you'll see.
11. This is really weird, gross, and random....but I must say it....it came to mind and is so true. Prepare yourself. If I see a butt crack, I feel a sudden urge to poke it many times while saying "butt crack butt crack butt crack". I usually can resist, but the urge is SO there. (I know...I'm disgusting....what can I say.)
12. I used to be a personal trainer, and I loved it! Some day I will do this again.
13. I could do laundry all day and be very happy. It's my favorite chore to do.
14. I'm extremely paranoid of loosing my family tragically. I am constantly trying to overcome this, but it's very difficult, but I'm better than I was.
15. I hate eggs....of every form except hardboiled/deviled eggs....I love them!
16. I secretly hate to see infants carried in a car-seat. I think infants should be held in the arms, not a plastic fabric covered seat. No offense to those that do this....it's just really really not for me.
17. I love the smell of my mothers milk....another weird one....I know. No wonder my babies go crazy when the smell it.
18. I love rearranging things. It's another obsession.....if you ever need help.....call!
19. I have a really hard time accepting help. I am a giver. I am gradually learning to overcome this....especially since I get so deathly ill when pregnant.
20. Summer is my favorite season....I love the heat, humidity (yes I said it), and I love sweating. I'm glad Ronald doesn't mind not having the air conditioner on during this season. Then I thoroughly enjoy it all.
21. I was a boy chaser....thank goodness I found Ronald...I have calmed down since. :)
22. When I was in 2nd grade a boy named Dereck got on the see-saw at school with me. I was convinced that we were going to get married. I saw him again when I was in 11th grade...I'm glad I chose Ronald instead.
23. I say very unusual things (or do weird thing) around Isabella so that she will repeat them. Sometimes I just need a good laugh. (but these things are always appropriate)
24. I hate Time Square....there is nothing good there....you really want to see New York....walk outside of Time Square for several blocks....live will open up to you.
25. I really don't like doing these "tag" things....this one should have been shortened by about 10 things.
I tag no one. If you feel inclined to do this....go for it. But I don't wish this upon you.

Before our walk
Today I was feeling a little trapped (I still can't drive until next week.....yuck!), so I took the kids on a walk. It was a little brisk (I love that word), so we bundled up and got some fresh air. We had a lovely time.
Cheese! (I love her pumpkin hat.)
Dear Son-
I love you very much. I love cuddling with you and nursing you. Your little baby sounds are so precious. I would also love it if you would decide to sleep in your own bed at night time, instead of in bed with Mami and Papi. I understand that it's wonderful to cuddle at night, and that body heat is a marvelous thing, but Mami wants her bed back. Would you please work on sleeping in your own bed, so Mami can get some good sleep, too?
I love you.
Love,
Mami

I love you.
Love,
Mami

Happy birthday my sweet 2 year old!
On October 21, my baby turned 2. This is an exciting time, but it's also kind of sad for me. I realize that my children must, and will grow up, but I wish it didn't happen so soon. One day, she might not want to cuddle, or sit on my lap, or kiss me on the lips, so right now, I've got to take it all in. I love her wet kisses, the way she holds my face at my chin, when she runs with her arms halfway up in the air and still kind of waddles. I LOVE when she sings her songs she knows (which are quite a few)....especially when she's in her bed for nap time or bed time, and she's singing for her babies. I love how she asks questions about everything and thinks that I know everything (that will change all to soon....sigh)
I look forward to watching my baby grow and progress to become a lovely daughter of God. I love you, my punkin!

Seven months old.
Trying out her new food for her kitchen.
Sunday with the family
When Mom-mom comes into town, she usually treats the entire family to a chinese dinner. It's always a nice treat, but this time, everyone also got to spend a little bit of time getting to know Alexander. We had a great time.
Papi was tickling Isabella. This is not a great picture of Ronald, but I love Isabella's sweet little face.
Uncle Nathan, Isabella, me, Alexander, Auntie Beebs, Uncle Grant, and Tio. I love my brothers and sister so much, but man were we squished on the couch....poor Gracie!

Me and Gracie. (Grace is really into self portraits now......silly girl. I thought I would spice it up a little bit.)

Alexander Bartley Rivera
Before the procedure....those contractions were killing me (but I'm glad I went into labor on my own.)
Here he is.....sweet little boy!
Mami holding him for the first time. He was a really good nurser....like he's been doing it for years.

Isabella giving her "new baby" a kiss. She loves her new baby Alexander.

Mami and Papi after the recovery period was over and we were allowed to have a room.

Papi holding Alexander for the first time. He was so excited to have a son. Ronald is such a good Papi. I love my husband.

Isabella loves to rub Alexander's hair. When she first saw him, she just kept rubbing his head over and over.
Checking out the new baby.

Holding Alexander for the first time. She loves to hold him.
Sleepy boy
Our new family of four. Isabella requested that she hold the baby. What a good big sister.
This is when Isabella saw Alexander for the first time. She was so excited! Brandon was playing peek-a-boo with him.

Our sweet baby boy came into this world on Saturday, October 11, 2008. He was born at 7:25pm, weighed 7lbs 8 ozs, and was 20 inches long. He is a very calm baby, and LOVES to eat. Isabella is a very good big sister, although she is having a little trouble adjusting to sharing mami. Alexander loves his big sister. We are very glad that this sweet baby is here, and that we are home now.
